PTFE Fine Powder
Fine Powder PTFE is made using the emulsion polymerisiation process. No PFOA is used in our process. Just like granular, it is almost completely chemically inert, even in very aggressive environments. It is a very good electrical and thermal insulator and has the lowest friction coefficient of any plastic. It maintains its properties over a very wide range of temperatures, (-200C to +260C)
Fine powder PTFE is designed to be extruded but the process is very different to standard extrusion process for thermoplastics like PE, PP, PET etc. The fine powder is first mixed with a relatively volatile aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, (eg Naptha), to form a paste which is then extruded into rod, tube or sheet, or as a cable coating. The extrudate is subsequently dried and sintered.
Fine powders are used in a range of applications and are classified based on the reduction ratio range. Low reduction ratio polymers are usually used for lining of pipes or large diameter rod and tube whereas the highest reduction ratios are used for very fine bore tubing and cable coating. Our range of fine powders includes a complete range of reduction ratios for every application.
If lower deformation under load, improved flex resistance, lower porosity, improved clarity, higher elongation or higher dielectric strength are required, we also have co-polymer modified options.

Medium high RR for tubing, hose, rod etc.

Modified high RR for thin-walled tubing and cable coating.
Grade - P30
Modified, very high RR for very fine wire coating.
